The day is bright
The sun is hot
I think how nice life is
When it's quiet
But then the wind blows
And I think of you
As I sit and chew on a thought or two
You've left me dry as dry as the earth is now
And I'm in drought
I don't know what I will do
I don't know what I will do
But I have to turn from you
And keep turning out the light
Turn off the dawn
See the world without that bright yellow sun
So I won't see you
The day is bright
The sun is hot
I think how nice life is
When it's quiet
But then the wind blows
And I think of you
As I sit and chew on a thought or two
You've left me dry as dry as the earth is now
And I'm in drought
I don't know who I will see
Or where I will go
But I have to get up and dust off this earth
Before I fall down
To my knees with a frown
Where the earth is dry
Stone dry even with my tears falling down
The day is bright
The sun is hot
I think how nice life is
When it's quiet
But then the wind blows
And I think of you
As I sit and chew on a thought or two
You've left me dry as dry as the earth is now
And I'm in drought
